Narrowing focus on your brand A brand becomes stronger when you narrow it's focus. In a few short years, Starbucks has become one of America’s best known and most popular brands. Narrowing one’s focus is not the same as carrying a limited line. Starbucks offers thirty different types of coffee,  Narrow the focus. A powerful branding program always starts by contracting the category, not expanding ii.  Stock in depth. Buy cheap. Sell cheap, When you can buy cheap, you can sell cheap and still maintain good margins.  Dominate the category. The ultimate objective of any branding program is to dominate a category.  If you want to have a strong brand, you have to do what companies did before they were famous. You have to find out what they did to make their brand recognized. If you want to have a successful company, you have to do what successful companies did before they were successful.
